Toni and Simons Wedding

Toni and Simons Wedding Blog

It had been a long time since our last visit to Stirk House in Gisburn, Clitheroe. We were here today to capture images and video for Toni and Simons wedding. I have to admit it was freezing cold but the sun did it's best to stay out so that we could get some really nice shots in the gardens.

We had a treat during the evening shoot as the huge tree in the garden was lit up with hundreds of fairy lights, plus a bit of madness with a load of sparklers

Jayy and Ryans Wedding Day

Jayy and Ryans Wedding Day Blog

I met up with Jayy and Ryan a few weeks before their wedding day for an engagement - pre shoot down in the lakes. We had a great time wandering around the shores which gave us time to have a good netter about the plans for the big day.

Following on from a church ceremony in Whitehaven the happy couple decided to hold the wedding breakfast and reception at Whitehaven Golf Club. Lucky for us it was a lovely day and the view was spectacular over the Cumbrian fells.

Gemma and Toms Wedding

Gemma and Toms Wedding Blog

We went down to Nuthurst Grange in sunny Warwickshire for Gemma and Tom's wedding day.

The happy couple decided to hold the entire wedding day at the hotel, which was a fabulous idea as the hotel and grounds are amazing; lots of nice quiet spots for a photo shoot. The venue also looked fantastic when lit up for the evening celebrations.

Courtney and Joe

We were almost on the doorstep for Courtney and Joe's Lake District wedding. The ceremony took place at Kirkby Stephen Parish Church, on a very hot and sunny day. Being a Cumbria wedding photographer it is not unusual to encounter all the seasons in one day!

The happy couple held their reception at the stunning Laura Ashley Belsfield Hotel on the shores of Windermere, where everyone was made to feel like movie stars. After the wedding breakfast we took the bride and groom down to the lake shore for some wonderful setting sun photos - even the swans made an appearance.. I hope that the photos manage to sum up just how special the day was.

Kristy-Leigh & Luke

Being a Cumbria Wedding Photographer has enormous benefits due to the amazing scenery. However, it is always a privilege to be asked to shoot a wedding elsewhere. Today we are off down south to Hertfordshire for the wedding of Kristy-Leigh and Luke.

They held their ceremony at the beautiful Datchworth All Saints church and then on to the amazing Three Lakes Westmill Farm for the reception. The surroundings and views where truly breathtaking. I really do hope we have the opportunity to shoot here again at some point..

Joanne & Carl's Wedding

We first met Joanne and Carl over two years before their wedding day, on a very rainy and cold day in Kendal, to discuss the plans for their big day. Fast forward 18 months and we met up again in Liverpool's Sefton Park for their engagement photoshoot - I may be a Cumbria wedding photographer but I really do get everywhere! Thankfully the weather was a lot nicer..

Joanne and Carl had decided to hold their wedding ceremony and reception at the fabulous Abbey House Hotel by Furness Abbey in Cumbria. Despite the initial nerves Joanne sailed through the day and everything went off without a single hitch - even the weather behaved itself, giving us lots of opportunities to go outside for some really nice shots.

We had an awesome day with Jenny and Mark, even the weather decided to behave itself for once. They chose Craxton Wood Hotel to hold both their ceremony and reception. Always a great venue due the fabulous grounds, which provided a really nice backdrop for the photo's.

Joanne and Carl's Pre-shoot

Today we are off down to Liverpool (Sefton Park's - Fairy Glen) for Joanne and Carl's wedding pre-shoot. It was really really hot and sunny so we were very thankful to find some nice shaded areas under the trees.

The place is really beautiful, and very popular with the locals - lots of people enjoying the sunshine having bbq's and playing family games of rounders etc. We where even treated to some music from a band of buskers.

Not long now to wait guy's, only a couple of weeks until your big day in June..

Amy and Tom's Wedding Pre-shoot

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Amy and Tom at the amazing Botanical Gardens in Sheffield yesterday for their wedding pre-shoot.

Here is a small selection from the gallery.

It was great to meet up with you both to discuss all of your plans for the big day.

Really looking forward to shooting their wedding in a couple of weeks time..

Megan and Paul's Wedding Pre-shoot

Second of the recent pre-shoots, this time a wander off to the shores of Thirlmere in the beautiful Lake District.

Thankfully the weather was NOT up to Cumbria's normal standards and was super hot and sunny. As you can see from the images Megan and Paul where well up for a bit of madness continuing on from when we met last year during Lucy and Steve's wedding in Italy

Really looking forward to capturing their wedding in a few weeks time.

Anna and Yuriy's Preshoot

The amazing Lilleshall Abbey was the location for Anna and Yuriy's wedding pre-shoot.

Founded in about 1148, this Augustinian abbey became a private residence after the Reformation, and was severely damaged during the Civil War during a Parliamentarian siege. Despite that, much of the church survives, and is viewable from gallery level. There is also a lavishly sculpted processional door and other cloister buildings.

We had a great couple of hours just getting to know each other and grabbing some really nice intimate shots in and around the abbey grounds.

Really looking forward to your wedding at Rowton Castle in July.

Pete :-)

Bethany and Todd's Wedding Day

CPD Photography

Cumbria Wedding Photographer

Being a Cumbria Wedding Photographer is amazing. But from time to time we are privileged to be asked to shoot weddings in different parts of the country. Today I am off down to Doncaster with my wife Cath from CPD Film who is filming the event.

Bethany and Todd chose the amazing Cusworth Hall as the venue for both there wedding ceremony and reception. Perched high in the hills is provides amazing views overlooking Doncaster.  I always love to use natural light whenever possible and the hall's large windows did not let me down.

The couple chose a vintage style, with nice pastel colours that suited the surroundings so well.

Thankfully the rain that poured down during the reception and speeches cleared away, just long enough for us to pop outside for some romantic photo's.. As you can see from the very dramatic sky it did not last long..

Suzanne and Scott's Wedding

Suzanne and Scott's Wedding Day

It was a privilege to photograph Suzanne and Scott's fabulous wedding along with my wife Cath of CPD Film who provided the cinematography for the day.

The happy couple live in Keswick - Cumbria and chose the amazing Lodore Falls Hotel just out of town to host their wedding and reception. Cumbria is not best know for having nice weather. However, it remained hot and sunny for the entire day, and enabled them to hold the ceremony outdoors in the gazebo. Excalibur wedding cards provided a beautiful green Cadillac which was a great hit with all of the guests (and me) and brilliant for climbing up the hills around the hotel for some beautiful photo's.

Carly and Adam's Wedding

Carly and Adam's Wedding Blog

5th February 2017

Higher Trapp Country House Hotel

This was the third wedding I'd had he privilege to capture for the family. Our association started four years ago when we had the pleasure of shooting Adam's sister Hannah and David's wedding in Kendal, followed by Kim and Oliver's two years later.

Carly and Adam are movie fanatics and based the theme of their wedding on this, table names were names of their favourite films. They even had a light box next to the wedding cake with the words 'Cakes on a Plane' illuminated.

The men did their part by wearing "Spat" shoes to compliment Carly's 1920s styled wedding dress.

We had a fabulous day with the happy couple and almost feel as though we are now honorary members of the families.

Jo and Ben's Wedding

Jo and Ben's Wedding - Inn on The Lake Glenridding

We first met Jo and Ben , and their gorgeous dog Scooby, on their pre-wedding photoshoot. We had a fabulous hour stomping around the Borrowdale Valley, chatting over their plans for the wedding day, and generally getting to know more about them. It was a rather overcast day, but it made for some spectacular skies over Derwentwater.

The Inn on The Lake was the perfect setting for Jo and Ben's wedding. On the shores of Ullswater, the lake and surrounding mountains provide a stunning backdrop. Jo and Ben had chatted about having an outdoor ceremony, and being the end of December it was a dream that wouldn't necessarily become a reality. However, the Cumbrian weather was extremely kind - it was cold, but it was one of those crisp dry days that you can only hope for in December. Following the ceremony guests where treated to nice hot mulled wine outside on the terrace.

The hotel was looking very festive with all their Christmas decorations.

Chris Gratten of Beautifully vintage-china-hire-vintage-accessories provided room decoration and centred on a golfing theme -  Ben and his twin best man brother Alec are professional golf teachers! Each of their tables was named after a famous golf course.

Thankfully the weather remained clear for us all day, and Jo and Ben where very keen to get outside again for some more photos. Jo did say that she ruined her shoes for the reflection pool and pier shots, but she said it was all worth it....

And to round the day off they held their evening reception in The Candle Room - it looked spectacular thanks to the work of Jaimie Johnston from The Memory Knot who provided the room decorations. Then one more little venture outside for some night time shots in the gazebo..
